The selected candidate will join the Clinical Diagnostics group
and will be responsible for initiating and investigating scientific
concepts related to the fulfillment of company long term goals.
This position involves review and interpretation of scientific
literature, laboratory investigations, project planning and
interaction with other departments as needed to support company
goals. Working independently, you will develop, design and perform
experimental strategies and procedures for projects; conduct,
direct and troubleshoot potentially highly complex technical
experiments. You will also evaluate ideas which can lead to
new or improved products or processes.
Qualifications include
a Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Immunology or a related discipline
or a Masters degree with a minimum of 3 years of R&D experience.
We will consider a recent Post-Doc provided you have done some
novel research in the area of enzyme assays. You must be able
to effectively communicate and interact with others and do hands
on work in the laboratory. Position requires knowledge and skill
in operating automated clinical chemistry analyzers with an
emphasis in enzyme assay development. Candidate will have demonstrated

in the development and performance of enzyme immunoassays. This
includes formulation of new reagents, enhancements of existing

Analytical
Chemist - Method Development
The selected candidate will be primarily responsible for the
method development and validation testing of finished products
and raw materials. You will perform a variety of analytical
chemistry processes such as potency assay, content uniformity
and impurities testing by HPLC under instructions. You will
also be involved in the development of stability indicating
HPLC methods, validation of HPLC methods, support ANDA using
the following techniques GC, IR, UV, TLC and/or other wet chemistry
techniques. You will follow work instructions under GMP guidelines
and perform other tasks as needed in the R&D lab such as
stability and in-process sample testing.
Qualifications include
a minimum of a BS degree in Chemistry or closely related with
one year experience, or an MS degree, in a science related field
with an emphasis in Chemistry preferred. Other fields such as
Biology majors with equivalent chemistry background may also
qualify. You must have strong mathematical skills and a knowledge
and commensurate experience in wet chemistry techniques such
as: HPLC, GC, UV, IR, TLC and other instrumental techniques

to support pharmaceutical formulations that leads to ANDA, cleaning
validation, MPSP and stability testing. Specific responsibilities

Process Improvement Scientist
The R&D Chemistry Group has an opening for a highly motivated
and experienced Process Improvement Scientist / Associate Scientist
to participate in the development and implementation of state-of-the-art
quantitative bioanalytical methods. Responsibilities include
performance improvement of in vitro diagnostic assays and developing
novel assay methodologies to quantitatively determine biomarkers.
The ideal candidate
will have a solid working knowledge of assay optimization and
process improvement. As a member of a multidisciplinary team
of scientists, this individual will be in charge of developing
and implementing new process or formulation to improve the performance
of diagnostic products. This individual will be responsible
for design and conducting experiments, analyzing and interpreting
data from new and established assays systems and be a team member
in the development of new instrumentation for process improvement.
Requirements include
an understanding of immunoassay, protein chemistry and enzyme
based assay development. Previous experience in membrane based
assay development, process improvement and production scale
up is desired. Experience in glucose monitoring device is preferred.
The successful candidate will possess excellent skills in experiment
design and data analysis and enjoy troubleshooting and problem
solving. Excellent computer skills including experience with
multivariate data, technical software packages, and databases
are preferred. The ability to work independently and to work
on multiple projects. Excellent verbal and written communication
skills and a motivated self starter with good organizational
skills is essential.
Qualifications include
a BS degree in Chemistry/Chemical Engineering or related science
and 8 years working experience in medical device and assay development.
An MS degree in Chemistry/Chemical Engineering or related science
and 5 years working experience in medical device and assay development.
A PhD in Chemistry/Chemical Engineering or related science and

Research Associate - In Vivo Pharmacology
The selected candidate will be involved in a comprehensive research
program aimed at discovering novel drug candidates for the treatment
of metabolic diseases. You will be responsible for conducting
extensive animal testing models within the Pharmacology department.
Previous experience in either diabetes and/or obesity research
models in preferred.
Qualifications include
a BS/MS degree in one of the Life Sciences with 3-5 years of
previous industry experience performing in vivo experimentation.
You should have extensive hands-on experience with dosing techniques
such as IP, IV, SC and PO dosing. You should also have expertise
in sample collection techniques and possess significant animal
